Comparison

A charting position tool against ZRisk

Long and short position drawings show risk and reward on the chart. What they are built for, what they leave to you, and where the two fit together.

The short version

A position drawing is a planning instrument. It is very good at showing you the shape of a trade on the chart, and it is not connected to your exchange account, your fee tier or that pair's lot rules, so the number it gives is a starting point rather than an order.

Two different jobs

Deciding where a trade goes is chart work, and a good charting package is hard to beat at it. Turning that decision into an order that is the right size, priced with real fees and accepted by the exchange first time is a different job, and it is the one this is built for.

The account size in the drawing is a guess

A position drawing sizes from numbers you type into it. It has no way to know what is actually in your futures wallet, what your commission rate is after your last thirty days of volume, or that the pair you are looking at trades in steps of 0.1. Those three facts are what separate a drawn plan from a placeable order.

You can keep using both

Plenty of people plan on one screen and execute on another. If that is you, nothing here asks you to stop.
